Hotter N’ Hell
Mississippi Smoke #2
Abbi Glines
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Where do I begin…. This was my first Abbi Glines book. It was not what I was expecting. I normally avoid books where the main character is part of the church. But this was done in a way that it was dirty but in a good way.
Saylor, my heart broke for her. I could totally relate to her and the feeling of being lost and not having an identity. Having everything she knows ripped from her can definitely leave some unresolved issues. She had an amazing growth as a character with lessons learned.
Jude, at times I wanted to slap him, especially when it came to Sibby. His decisions show how teenagers can be influenced during tragedies. He learns that they don’t have to defy who you are. Man I was not ready for dominant and dirty Father Jude.
Their story shows how first love can influence, consume and define you if you let it. Some times it takes the right person to open your eyes. There were some plot twists that I didn’t see coming that shocked me. I will definitely be picking up other books with the family in them. I do have a couple of questions: does she continue changing the closet, does Jude join the family, does Crow find happiness and what happens to Sibby. I would really like to see her reaction to the outcome.
